2011 Habitat Build – Day 7 – October 22

Brother Larry Maxwell reports…

Habitat For Humanity - Day 7 - Brotherhood of St. Andrew - DallasIt was another lovely Saturday, a day made by the Lord. Lots of caulking, spackling, sanding and painting, and the folks from St. James and St. Andrew’s Farmers Branch were up to the task. Thanks to Jan for organizing the crew from St. James and providing the super homemade cookies and brownies. Special thanks to the folks from St. James who liked the high altitude – the tall gables on the front and back of the house look great. Thanks to Fr. Reed, the folks from St. Andrew’s and to Fr. Lee and several young men from his Korean congregation. And, again this Saturday, thanks to Bobby, Redeemer Irving, who serves the best lunch at any Habitat work site in Dallas.

Next Saturday, Day 8, is our final work day, and folks from Holy Nativity Plano and Good Shepherd will give the house it’s second coat of paint and do the landscaping. The Brotherhood Chapter at St. Michael’s will be providing lunches.Youngsters age 14 and up are welcome.

Mark your calendars: The Dedication of the new home of Angela and her family will be Saturday, November 12, at 10:30 a.m.
