Dallas Assembly Annual Meeting 2011
The Dallas Assembly of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew held it’s annual meeting at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Dallas TX. Representatives from 14 chapters were attendance.
Our Eucharist was held with Bishop Lambert leading and speaking to the assembly about growth opportunities among non-represented parishes in the diocese. He challenged us to double our attendance with new members for the next annual meeting.
A great breakfast was served by the St. Luke’s Brotherhood chapter.
Our meeting started with an excellent presentation by Fr. J.D. Brown, Rector of Holy Trinity – Garland, and new Chaplain of the Dallas Assembly. titled “Men of Faith“.
Presentations were given by Robby Gerber, Assembly President; Don Candy, Assembly Coordinator; Larry Maxwell, Treasurer; James Vineyard, Vice-President; and John Phipps, Webmaster.
Our service projects for 2012 will be Patriot Paws – a great service organization for disabled vets, and Hearts And Hammers – an organization with the mission to refurbish qualified homes owned by low income citizens within the Dallas Metroplex.
Elections were held to elect a new President and Secretary. John Curtis of Holy Trinity By The Lake – Rockwall was elected to serve a 3 year term, 1 year as Co-Adjutor with Robby Gerber, our current president, and 2 years as President. Steve Orthwein of Holy Redeemer Irving was elected to a 2 year term as Secretary.
