Dear Brothers,
This year has been good for the Brotherhood as we recovered from Covid restrictions. We had three great assemblies in March, June, and September with wonderful speaker presentations.
On September 24th, 38 brothers from 11 diocese churches gathered at St Philips in Frisco to learn from Dr. John Tolson how we can put our relationship with Jesus into action by following His command to us in Matt. 28:28-30. Our oath, repeated at every gathering, is to make ourselves stronger through Prayer, Study, and Service. Our church becomes stronger because we faithfully pray and study God’s word to become stronger. We put that into action by disciplining men for His glory to strengthen the church. That is how the church grows. Without that triad focus, we are little more than just a service, or study, or social group. There is nothing wrong with any of these by themselves, but we can only grow strong spiritually in the Word if we have Service and Prayer and Study in the Scriptures equally. That is the strength of the Brotherhood.
We will gather again on Saturday, 3 September, at Holy Trinity Garland in assembly with our brothers. The gathering starts in the Holy Trinity parish hall at 7:30 AM. The Great Thanksgiving will start promptly at 8:15 with Bishop Sumner officiating. At 9:00, the men of Holy Trinity will serve a great hot breakfast. Following will be a brief program and annual business meeting. Our treasurer will present the annual financial report. Nominations can be presented for a president coadjutor.
All men in the diocese are welcome. Active membership is not required. Active brothers, bring a brother from your church to join us as we celebrate our Savior in the Eucharist and for fellowship with each other.
Peace in the Lord,
