Jim Cox of St. Andrew To Stand For Election

James L. Cox of St. Andrew’s has stepped forward to stand for election to the Dallas Assembly Board.

Jim’s bio:

I was born in San Antonio on July 30, 1951. Becky and I were married on June 24, 1972.

We have three children, Rhonda Michelle, Roxanne Faith, and Lee James, all married to wonderful spouses. We moved to Germantown MD in 1984 and moved to Carrollton, TX in 1989. Since we moved to Carrollton, our children have blessed us with seven grandchildren, Rachel, Robert, Matthew, Andrew, Dustin, Brienne, and Zoey

I started attending Santa Fe Episcopal Church in late 1972. I was baptized in 1978 along with my two daughters on Becky’s birthday. Becky and I were confirmed in the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas in 1979. Our son was baptized in 1980. I served on the Bishop’s Committee for three years, serving two of those years as Treasure and Acolyte Director. I also served in the Lay Ministry.

In 1984, when we moved to Maryland, we joined the Chapel of the Holy Spirit of Germantown, MD. I served three years on the vestry, serving as Christian Education Director, Acolyte Director and served in the Lay Ministry.

In 1989, we moved to Carrollton, Texas and joined Trinity Episcopal Church in Carrollton, which later became Church of the Intercession. I served on the Lay Ministry and also ushered

In 2005, I was elected to the Vestry and was appointed as Finance Committee Chair and Stewardship Committee Chair. I served in the Lay Ministry and as an Usher.

In 2007, Becky and I joined St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. I have served as:

    • Vestry – 2009-2011 and 2013 to present
    • Sr. Warden – 2010-2011 and 2013
    • Lay Eucharistic Minister – 2010 – present
    • Brotherhood of St. Andrew – Started Chapter in 2012 – Director 

I feel through prayer the Lord has guided me to be considered as a candidate for Officer in the Dallas Assembly of The Brotherhood of St. Andrew.
